Suspension of Ladera Little League Activities Until August 31, 2020

Dear Ladera Little League Parents,

We hope that you and your families are in good health. Ladera Little League has participated in discussions with Little League District 25 and the Los Angeles County Parks & Recreation officials regarding the impact of COVID-19 on the 2020 Spring Little League Season. At the forefront of these discussions, has been the safety and welfare of our players, volunteers and fans as we continuously assess this unprecedented situation.

The impact of COVID-19 has presented a number of unique challenges and as a result, Ladera Little League will continue to delay our 2020 Junior/50-70; Major and Minor baseball and softball season. The season for those divisions will be delayed until August 31st, 2020.

We have decided to cancel our 2020 season for our Tee Ball and Rookie divisions (baseball and softball). We believe it would be difficult to keep our youngest children safe, and properly distanced.

For the parents of our Tee Ball and Rookie players. Ladera Little League will offer the following options related to the 2020 Spring Season registration fees that you paid. All refunds will be minus the cost of each players uniform.

Here are the refund options:
• Apply the fee as a credit to your Spring 2021 season (minus the cost of the uniform)
• Donate the registration fee to Ladera Little League (a tax-deduction letter will be provided)
• Please send an email to request a refund (minus the cost of the uniform)

Your registration fees allowed Ladera Little League to purchase equipment for the 2020 season; fund our opening day ceremony; also allowed the league to make payments for the 2020 Little League charter and insurance fees.

Please email: [email protected] by August 31st to either request a refund. Request that your 2020 league registration be used as a credit towards the 2021 spring season, or if you would like your 2020 fee used as a tax-deductible donation to LLL.

As we learn more from Los Angeles County officials about their plans to re-open, we will make announcements about future play at the Major, Minor, and Junior/50-70 divisions. Obviously, we will only play ball if we can do so safely and responsibly. Players in the above divisions will be presented with the same three financial options in August if we are unable to move forward with our game schedule.

We are all really missing baseball and softball. We encourage you to use this time to play catch or do some other fun activity with your son or daughter.
